Ballet
  • Level 1 - The perfect beginner to intermediate class for students with limited to no experience (0-3 years).  Class teaches ballet terminology, focusing on barre work, floor exercises and across the floor exercises.  Students learn proper body alignment and placement at the barre as well as centre floor.  

  • Level 2 - This class is for ages 10 and up with a least 3 years of previous ballet training.  Students focus on performing technique. perfecting more intricate ballet moves, adding speed and complexity into their routines.  This is an intermediate level class.

Ballroom Kids

Step into the spotlight with BallroomKids! Dancers embark on a thrilling journey through the world of ballroom dance, learning a new style from Cha-Cha to Waltz. Our curriculum is specially designed for young learners by a world-champion ballroom dancer, ensuring every step is age-appropriate and safe.

 

Tailored for all skill levels, we make sure that every dancer shines brightly. Our classes focus on individual skills in a fun, supportive group setting. Plus, our unique passport system celebrates your dancer's progress as they master each dance, creating an exciting and rewarding experience. Class focuses on performance, musicality, style, and telling a story through dance. Through warm-ups and across the floor exercises students will develop their technique as a foundation.

 

Choreography taught weekly familiarizes students with diverse styles, promotes self confidence, and allows each student to develop their performance skills in an encouraging environment.

 

Class combos pay homage to the musical theater pioneers like Jack Cole, Jerome Robbins, and Bob Fosse while adding a modern day edge.

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dancethat combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements

Hip Hop

Hip Hop

Hip hop is a high-energy class that infuses the latest styles of street dancing, breaking, popping, and locking. Classes will encourage students to step outside of the box by bringing their own individual style and personality to the movements. Hip hop dance requires students to have the strength and stamina to successfully perform moves. Therefore class includes upper and lower body conditioning as well as a rigorous warm-up to help prepare students for more intense movements.

  • Level 1 is a fun, energizing class for the beginner.   You will be taken through the basic elements of hip hop, step by step, so you will have a better understanding of the movement, the choreography and technique while also helping to develop an understanding of rhythm, body awareness, and self-expression

  • Level 2 is an intermediate class for the student who wants to take their hip hop technique and choreography to the next level!

Jazz

Jazz

A high-energy class that teaches the fundamentals of classic jazz including the development of  body alignment, coordination, balance and rhythmic awareness.

 

  • Level 1 -  The Level 1 dancer learns the correct terminology and technique while having a blast in class!

  • Level 2 - This class builds on the fundamentals learned in a Level 1 Jazz class, while expanding and developing musicality and phrasing.  The Level 2 dancer adds skills ranging from contractions to triple step, to pas de bouree pivoting, to isolations, to double pirouettes and much more.  The fun is added for free!

Lyrical

Lyrical

Lyrical dance is a fusion of ballet, modern, and jazz dance techniques.  Lyrical dance inspires dancers to use movement to interpret music and express emotion rather than have a more presentational quality.  A song's lyrics are the driving force and key inspiration for the movement.Lyrical is a highly technical dance form in which the knowledge of other dance styles benefits a dancer.  Therefore dancers who take a lyrical class are required to also enroll in a ballet and/or jazz class.

  • Level 1 - This class is designed to work on the lyrical style incorporating appropriate levels of technique, emotion, and performance. (Required to take a Level 1 Ballet and/or Level 1 Jazz Class)

  • Level 2 - This is an intermediate level class.  This class will work on the lyrical style incorporating technique, emotion, and performance at an intermediate level.  This class is for ages 10 and up with a least 2 years of prior Ballet or Jazz training. Required to take a Ballet or Jazz Class

Musical Theatre

Musical Theatre

Students will learn to tell a story using all aspects of Musical Theatre, through spoken word, music and dance movement, song and dialogue.  

Each class will serve to build their confidence on stage and to develop individual capabilities as a performer.  Classes will focus on dance and movement, as well as learning to build and bring a character to life while interacting with fellow performers and an audience!  

Classes will be fun, fast paced, inclusive where each student will be encouraged to express and improve at their own pace.  We will take a mini-production from script, through the blocking, staging and choreography process to perform at the  annual Recital!

Tap

Tap

Tap is a fun, high energy style that introduces rhythm patterns for the feet including standard time steps, percussive styles and more complicated steps.

 

  • Level 1 -Class instruction will focus on tap fundamentals, intricate footwork, and the importance of rhythm and sound.  Including basic tap steps, cramp rolls, time steps, wings, and pull backs. 

  • Level 2 - More advanced levels will be given more advanced steps to match their skill level.
